How to Join

2. If you are currently pursuing your certification, join your respective certification channel for this year::

Why Join?

The CAMBP Slack is where members can easily communicate with each other and with organizations. Slack is an instant-messaging platform where you can chat with others in groups chats ("channels") or private chats ("direct-messages"). We aim for our Slack to achieve:

• Member-to-member Communication: Members can identify and communicate with other members with only their name (minimal personally identifiable information (PII)).
• Development and Dissemination of Bee Knowledge: Members, beekeeping experts, and researchers share, teach, and discuss anything bee-related.
• Enhanced Certification Administration: Current certification candidates receive updates and can ask questions and communicate with each other.
• Customized Notifications: Users can customize their notification settings.
• Organizations: Connect members with CAMBP-partnered beekeeping organizations. Also connect them with each other and facilitate partnerships and sharing of resources.
• Forum for: 
  • Best practices in beekeeping and native bee conservation
  • Bee news in academia, industry, and ecology (from experts)
  • Bee-related events
• Marketplace for Beekeeping Services: Connect members to vetted beekeeping services.
• CAMBP Announcement Reach: A platform for CAMBP Admin to communicate announcements.
• Community Building: A place where members can connect through informal discussion, humor, and sharing of bee-related achievements.
• Communicating in way that email can't do, including:
  • Conduciveness to Quick Communication
  • Peer-to-Peer communication without PII
  • Informality and lack of structure
  • Minimal Moderation

Community Guidelines

• Use respectful language
• Solicitation
  • No soliciting in any channel except #bee-services
  • No unsolicited promotional messages in DMs
• Use threads when appropriate
• Post in the appropriate channel
